The trail starts right by the road linking La Magdalena and La Robla, at Olleros de Alba. It then goes up by a stream before reaching a metal door which blocks the cattle’s access. It is necessary to close it again after walking through it. The trail continues upwards to Las Brañas, where the stream springs up. You have to keep walking steadily upwards until reaching an extremely beautiful hill top, with some oaks, creeping junipers and blueberry trees. The main trail ends there, but you can continue your way to the right on some of the numerous paths leading to the Fontañán Peaks. Near the summit, the trenches recall tragic episodes of the Spanish Civil War, preceding the stunning panoramic views from the summit.
