The trail starts at Matallana de Torío train station and follows the route of an old mining train which carried coal extracted from the mine of Bardaya. Following this way you can easily get to Matallana, walking past an important site of fossilized corals. The trail continues on the way to Villalfeide, leaving the route. From this spot there is a stunning panoramic view of the Polvoreda peak (2006 m). The trail heads to Serrilla, from which you can take the route back.
